Welcome to the Portal of San Jose Elementary School!
As you open and browse the SJES portal, a collection of creative classroom daily activities, modified lesson plans and other e-instructional materials created, developed and modified by the teachers themselves of San Jose ES. SJES teachers are uncovering their closet where bulk of knowledge is stored. They are ready to share their own authored instructional materials and they welcome all opportunities to develop and improve their outputs. Their continuous commitment to learning manifests their desire not to be complacent of just being good to teaching but to continually reach more than their best.

Yes, time has sharpened their skills and passion has advanced them to be educators serving with a heart, prioritizing their pupils’ needs and managing their time efficiently in pursuit of service excellence. As they yield to Caloocan’ s battle cry “ Sa Caloocan, Walang Batang Maiiwan” and faithfully adhere to DepEd Mission and Vision, they continue to evolve mentally, spiritually and emotionally to adapt to the fast changing world and be equipped to develop our young individuals as life-long learners.

As SJES teachers and pupils are moving extra miles to improvement for quality education, they roar with enthusiasm “ Basta’t San Josenian, di pahuhuli saan mang larangan!”.

History of the School
San Jose Elementary School was formally organized and founded as an annex of Tandang Sora Elementary School in 1963. Its recognition was granted in 1966.
San Jose Elementary School is located at the heart of the two (2) big cemeteries- the North Cemetery and La Loma Cemetery. The school is placed between the two cemeteries as boundary markers of Manila and Caloocan. The North cemetery is part of the city of Manila while La Loma cemetery is a border of Manila and Caloocan. The school is near the A. Bonifacio National Highway, traversing the C-3 and C-5 Roads. It stands on a 1,228.5 square meters donated land.
The school’s first building with four (4) classrooms was named as Bagong Lipunan building occupied by four (4) Grade I classes fronting Tagaytay Street. The Bagong Lipunan building was reconstructed to a two-storey building with 8 classrooms in the year 1989. Another two- storey building was built in the year 1992 where the school library and stage were to be found. In the year 1996, Administration building was constructed through the Deped National Budget.
Mrs. Evangeline F. Ruiz was the first School Head/Head Teacher. Since then, SJES had the twenty-four (24) successions of dedicated and committed principals.
Presently, the school has 20 permanent teachers headed by an Officer-in-Charge Principal, Ms. Melody G. Trumata.
Current Situation of the School
San Jose Elementary School is a complete Public Elementary School with Kindergarten. For this School Year 2018-2019, the total enrolment is 635 pupils, 403 are male and 232 are female. The enrolment is declining for a percentage of 7% compared to the previous school year for the reason that the pupils are transferring to other divisions.
With the three buildings of the school, the average ratio of no. of learners for each classroom is 1: 35. Currently, the Bagong Lipunan building is currently condemned and reconstructed to a four-storey building. As of the moment, the opposite side building named as Administration building, is serving all grade levels until the new building is ready for use. Because the old building is demolished and new building is under construction, the school is now following a three-shift program for all classes. At the center facing the gate of the school, the Bayan Muna building, which was sponsored by the Congressional District fund, is a two storey building with two rooms, which are utilized for library room in the second floor and the SDRRMC room in the first floor, where also the school stage is positioned as the frontal view of the building.
